Council unveils first ‘gender-sensitive’ COVID-19 online dashboard for local policy, decision makers, academics
The country’s first “gender-sensitive” online dashboard for COVID-19 lets users break down datasets into either male or female (or both) to render sex-disaggregated epidemic curve and graphs and graphs. Users can easily crunch data according to key variables as health status, age group, location from regional to the municipal level, and a specific date range, among other useful features for more nuanced insights on the COVID-19 pandemic data. Luzon, Philippines – The country’s first “gender-sensitive” online dashboard for COVID-19 was unveiled by the National Research Council of the Philippines - Department of Science and Technology (DOST-NRCP) through a Zoom webinar hosted by the NRCP last Tuesday, 7 July 2020. The dashboard is unique among other existing local COVID-19 dashboards in breaking down datasets into sex-disaggregated graphs for more nuanced insights to aid decision-makers, government administrators, academics, and the general public.

Interactive Dashboard on Gender in relation to COVID-19 is up
“Gender is one of the neglected social dimensions of COVID-19. The difference of the interactive dashboard of information that we developed compared to other sources like those of the Department of Health (DOH) is the inclusion and visualization of gender data which is equally important in coming up with reports on COVID-19 status in the country”.

NRCP study reveals the Feelings, Cognitions, Behaviors of Filipinos During the COVID-19 Pandemic
“Worried and Afraid” were the top feelings generated in the NRCP research project led by Dr. Maria Cecilia Gastardo-Conaco, NRCP member of the Social Sciences Division.
Dr. Conaco also revealed the other feelings, cognitions, behaviors of Filipinos during the COVID-19 pandemic at the Department of Science and Technology-National Research Council of the Philippines (DOST-NRCP) first webinar on Kapakanan ng Tao sa Oras ng Pandemya (KTOP-COVID) on 23 June 2020 via Zoom.

Supported by the NRCP, Dr. Conaco investigated people's feelings and responses to the COVID-19 pandemic across its timeline and through the various government actions including how they get their information (i.e., sources), how they feel, respond, process and react to the various information and their sources.
