“An efficient data collection process can lead to better resource management. This can further lead to the best data-driven policy strategies for ensuring the sustainability of our country’s groundwater resources”. This is the premise of the featured research during the Regional Basic Research Caravan (RBRC) in Region VI in collaboration with DOST Region VII last November 3, 2022.
Dr. Jonnifer R. Sinogaya and Dr. Dranreb Earl O. Juanico, Regular Members of NRCP Division of Physics unravel the ingenious device to visualize the invisible water resource that runs underneath the ground. The device enables the analysis and visualization of groundwater monitoring data to support the implementation of sustainable water allocation strategies and inclusive participation in water governance in Metro Cebu.

The National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) has named the six (6) winners of the Scientific Poster Competition held during its Mindanao and Visayas Regional Clusters Annual Scientific Conference and Membership Assembly held at the University of Mindanao in Davao City and at the Cebu Technological University – Danao Campus in Cebu, last October 13 and 19, respectively, with the theme, Digital Transformation: Powers and Perils.
The said poster competition was categorized into three major fields, these are: Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, and Physical Sciences. The poster winners, one for each of the 3 categories, showed the influences of digital transformation tools in their respective research projects that contributed to valuable outputs and outcomes. Each of the poster winners received PhP7,000 while those that participated received a certificate.
