The National Research Council of the Philippines’82nd General Membership Assembly and Scientific Conference at the Philippine International Convention Center last 11 March 2015 mounted the concept water-food-energy nexus for sustainability and inclusive development. Over 600 scientists and researchers working in government, civil society and business attended the national scientific conference, whose main speakers were Dr. Bindu N. Lohani (top left), vice president of the Asian Development Bank; Dr. Gilberto Llanto, president of Philippine Institute for Development Studies, and Mario G. Montejo (center, top right photo), secretary of the Department of Science and Technology, among other experts and executives.
Eleven (11) world renowned Filipino and bona fide member-researchers of National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) were honored in its 82nd General Membership and Scientific Conference held last 11 March 2015 at the Philippine International Convention Center, Pasay City.
Dr. Windell L. Rivera, associate professor of microbiology of the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman, won the 2014 National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) Eusebio Y. Garcia Recognition Award for Molecular Biology and Molecular Pathology. Dr. Rivera received the award during the NRCP’s “Symposium on Dengue Researches and 81st Founding Anniversary” held last month at the Bayleaf Hotel in Intramuros, Manila. This conferment also earned him the NRCP Medallion and Plaque of Excellenceand a cash prize of P25,000.
