NRCP to Celebrate 91st Founding Anniversary: Revitalizing Vision on the Path to a Century of Scientific Excellence
The National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) is about to reach a century of scientific excellence!
NRCP will commemorate its 91st founding anniversary on 6 December 2024, at 3:00 PM at Agoncillo Hall, Delegation Building, Philippine International Convention Center, Pasay City, Metro Manila.
Themed “Revitalizing the NRCP Century Vision for the Nation and Beyond,” the Council will celebrate its milestones and renew its ambitious vision as it embarks on the journey toward its 100th year. NRCP remains committed to driving research excellence and inspiring innovation to address future challenges and opportunities.
The Council is already aligning its long term vision with national priorities and emerging global trends to navigate the evolving landscape of research. By revitalizing its century vision, NRCP ensures its continued relevance and impact, contributing significantly to national development. NRCP executive director will reveal its GRAND Plan towards its centennial year.
Speaker of the House of Representatives Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez and United States Ambassador to the Philippines, Ambassador MaryKay Loss Carlson will deliver keynote addresses highlighting NRCP’s critical role in advancing science, technology, and innovation in the Philippines.
The anniversary will feature the launch of Access to Repository and Archival Materials (ARAM) website where NRCP’s knowledge products and publications will be on available. This will highlight the Council’s achievements and contributions to research. The launch will provide participants an opportunity to explore NRCP’s narratives, showcasing the evolution of its work and its commitment to addressing pressing societal needs through research.
The event will honor outstanding Filipino researchers and Council members with the Gabay Awards, which recognize impactful research that has influenced policymaking, technological advancement, and innovation to tackle societal challenges. Council personnel demonstrating exceptional performance in their duties will also be recognized through the Service and Special Citation Awards.
Looking toward its centennial, NRCP will launch a stakeholder consultation in 2025 to refine its vision as it nears a century of research and scientific excellence. This consultation will introduce and discuss the century vision, outlining key strategies to achieve it. Preparations for the 2025 Annual Scientific Conference and General Membership Assembly will also be announced.
