RDLead-assisted NMSCST inks MOU with UPLB OIDHE
The Northwestern Mindanao State College of Science and Technology (NMSCST), a former RDLead-assisted institution, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of the Philippines Los Baños – Office for Institutional Development in Higher Education (UPLB-OIDHE).
The linking of NMSCST with UPLB-OIDHE is one of the outcomes of the former’s engagement with its RD Leader, Dr. Lucille Elna Parreño-De Guzman, a University Researcher at the Institute of Crop Science (iCrops) of UPLB. NMSCST’s engagement with Dr. de Guzman in 2022 was supported by the National Research Council of the Philippines under the Pilot Implementation of the Research and Development (RDLead) Program, funded under the grants-in-aid program of the Department of Science and Technology Science for Change Program (DOST S4CP).
NMSCST’s RDLead engagement led to the conduct of various trainings and capacity development initiatives by Dr. de Guzman to enable its personnel to pursue research and other opportunities.
The MOU with UPLB – OIDHE under the leadership of OIDHE director, Dr. Greg Pawilen is expected to provide more opportunities for NMSCST to level up its research capabilities through the assistance provided for by UPLB and its faculty and personnel. This will complement and reinforce the capacity development carried out under the RDLead program.
