The National Research Council of the Philippines is in search of personnel for position under GAA of the Finance and Administrative Division:

Project Engineer I -  Under Contract of Service (6-8 months), SG- 13/ Php 33,931.20

Minimum Qualification Standards:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with license
Experience: Preferably with one (1) year of relevant experience in project management related to electrical system and clerical/secretariat related matters, with experience working in government project
Training: At least eight (8) hours of relevant training attended
Preferences: Excellent in interpersonal, communication, coordination, and report writing skills. Result-oriented, analytical, resourceful and can work with minimum supervision Knowledgeable in other computer office applications (presentation preparation, spread sheets, MS word)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Check and endorse for approval the assessment and recommendation report by Atomic Power;
  2. Provide technical assistance to the Council with regards to bidding process and implementation of the electrical system completion;
  3. Prepare Terms of Reference (TOR) for the project;
  4. Monitor, oversee and supervise the execution of the project at all times for compliance with plans, specifications and other contract documents
  5. Conduct the initial and regular coordination meetings with the contractor and other parties directly involved in the project, and record the minutes thereof;
  6. Clarify technical problems, coordinating with contractor as required such that the implementation of the project shall not be delayed;
  7. Conduct acceptance inspection of the project, prepare a list of defects and follow up on remedial works;
  8. Monitor the contractor’s production of as-build drawing;
  9. Review and evaluate all application for billing of payments of the contractor per approved procedure of the NRCP;
  10. Recommend and discuss with NRCP any comments or findings that may contribute to the proper implementation of the project;
  11. Coordinate with the NRCP the implementation contract documents of the project in accordance with construction;
  12. Supervise and monitor the inspection, testing and acceptance of all materials that are utilized in the project;
  13. Inspect and audit the contractor’s execution of the project at the project site;
  14. Conduct regular onsite inspection visits of the project with the contractor and NRCP;
  15. Maintain records of all visits, contracts, shop drawings, samples, purchase documents, materials, equipment and other pertinent documents;
  16. Coordinate the partial or complete turnover of the project to NRCP;
  17. Review all deviation for approval of the as-built plans prepared by the contractor prior to the finalization for submission to NRCP;
  18. Submit monthly progress reports;
  19. Prepare other reports necessary for the closure on the contract
  20. Accomplished punch listing until the completion of the project
  21. Submit post-construction phase documentation within 30 days from the date of the certificate of completion issued to NRCP;
  22. Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time
