The DOST-NRCP shared good tidings/Christmas gifts to inmates in Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City. Specifically, DOST-NRCP visited the Custodial Facility Annex on December 20, 2019. These are the inmates who are still awaiting trial and do not have family or relations visiting them.
A total of 66 inmates received gifts from NRCP led by Executive Director Marieta Bañez Sumagaysay. More than the gifts, Dr. Sumagaysay gave an inspiring message and stories focusing on faith and hope and that life is a circle where each one will have their own share of a good and blessed life. The youngest among them is a 19-year old while the oldest is almost 70 years of age.
To inspire the inmates all the more, NRCP played videos showing how NRCP is contributing to the development goals of the country through its research and outreach programs.
Police Senior Master Sergeant (PSMS) Eric S. Petallo, the office-in-charge of the facility expressed gratitude that NRCP chose to visit the inmates and hoped the activity will become a regular activity. The inmates likewise thanked the NRCP for the visit.
