The Governing Board (2017-2018) of the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) bares the Council’s new vision and mission that shall direct its efforts until 2025.
“The National Research Council of the Philippines is a collegial body of highly-trained and productive scientists and researchers addressing the demand for knowledge, skills and innovations in the sciences and humanities, in order to effectively and efficiently contribute to nation-building and improvement of the quality of life of the Filipino people by 2025. ”
“The NRCP is committed to promote frontier and problem-oriented researches in the sciences and humanities that provide solutions to pressing and anticipated national issues. In the next ten years, we seek an enabling environment where our members can continuously generate new knowledge and exemplary researches as well as mentor future members. We foster a culture that allows our employees various opportunities for professional growth. We adhere to the highest ethical standards in research and dissemination. In partnership with DOST and other linkages, we optimize our resources to achieve these goals in the country and in the international community.”
The new vision and mission statements are a product of a series of strategic planning and meetings held by the Governing Board from September 2017 and were formally adopted at its 1007th meeting on 19 January 2018 held at the University Hotel, University of the Philippines Diliman (NRCP Resolution No. 2018-05). The statements were last revised 11 years ago at the time of then-President, Dr. Olivia Caoli and then-Acting Executive Director, Dr. Napoleon Hernandez, in 2007.
The statements will be presented in the Annual Scientific Conference and 85th General Membership Assembly to be held on 14 March 2018 at the Philippine International Convention Center, Pasay City, where over 800 member scientists, researchers, humanists and academics, are expected to attend.
