The National Research Council of the Philippines Governing Board (NRCP GB) has approved 79 new Associate Members during its 1063rd GB meeting last 25 January 2022. Associate Members constitute at least 80% of the total membership of NRCP who are mostly from the academe and research agencies.  NRCP is a research and collegial body of highly-trained scientists, researchers and artists who form a national pool of experts engaged in knowledge generation and transfer, skills and innovations and share expertise with various sectors of the society.

As for the latest breakdown of the new associate members, there are a total of nine (9) Associate Members from Division I (Governmental, Educational and International Policies), three (3) from Division II (Mathematical Sciences), seven (7) from Division III (Medical Sciences), 19 from Division V (Biological Sciences), six (6) from Division VI (Agriculture and Forestry), 19 from Division VII (Engineering and Industrial Research), six (6) from Division IX (Physics), three (3) from Division X (Chemical Sciences), six (6) from Division XI (Humanities), three (3) from Division XII (Earth and Space Sciences), and one (1) from Division XIII (Veterinary Medicine). Starting May 2022, the NRCP will accept applications for Associate Membership twice a year – the first call is on May 25 to July 20 and another is on October 1 to November 26 of each year. During the transition period, the NRCP will continue to accept applications for Associate Membership only until 15 March 2022.
