In a continuous resolve to support the Senate Bill No. 2155, or the "Virology Science and Technology Institute of the Philippines Act of 2021", and House Bill 6793 Establishing the Philippine Virology Science and Technology Institute, the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) is conducting the second series of the webinar VISION 2021: VIrology Science and Technology Institute of the Philippines Information, Opportunities and Networking on July 16, 2021.
Fully supporting the establishment of the VIP spearheaded by DOST, the Chair of the NRCP Division of Medical Sciences who also chairs the NRCP VIP Bill Ad Hoc Committee, Dr. Leslie Michelle M. Dalmacio, conceptualized the webinar series VISION 2021. The first series of the VISION 2021 Webinar was held last 29 April 2021 which focused on the VIP and virology expertise in the country. It was attended by 477 (210 male and 267 female) participants.
VISION 2021 gives a boost to all aspiring virologists as well as encourages scientists to pursue further research and enhance their careers in virology. This is one advocacy of NRCP, shared with DOST for the Filipino people who deserve products and policies born out of scientific endeavors for battling infectious disease.
This 2nd webinar focuses on the source of information, opportunities and networking related to the VIP and virology research in the Philippines. It will have the following scope/topics and speakers who are all NRCP Members:

To serve as panelist/reactor is Dr. Rowena Cristina L. Guevara, DOST Undersecretary for R&D, who is taking the lead in the establishment of the VIP. The VIP will serve as the principal laboratory of the country in providing virology laboratory investigations, researches, and technical coordination of the entire network of virology laboratories nationwide.
