The Department of Science and Technology-National Research Council of the Philippines (DOST-NRCP) will showcase timely topics by NRCP researchers for the celebration of the National and Science and Technology Week (NSTW) 2020.

From November 23-29,2020, the DOST-NRCP will present interesting and relevant topics related to the challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic via webinars.

In line with the theme, “Agham at Teknolohiya: Sandigan ng Kalusugan, Kabuhayan, Kaayusan, at Kinabukasan”, the NRCP will spearhead the KTOP – COVID 19: Knowledge Online activities.

These NRCP events will be held on 23-27 November 2020 and will have five parts that are anchored on the 4Ks (Kalusugan, Kabuhayan, Kaayusan, at Kinabukasan). The 4Ks refers to the thrust of the Duterte Administration in addressing the pandemic.

NRCP Members Asst. Prof. John D. Ultra, Dr. Agnes T. Remulla Dr. Enrico L. Basilio, Dr. Louie Jon A. Sánchez, Dr. Erna C. Arollado present their topics relative to the NSTW theme. The following are the presentations:

• CYBERSECURITY: Are We Serious About It? - Asst. Prof. John D. Ultra
• SCIENCE OF DREAMS: Why do I get nightmares? - Dr. Agnes T. Remulla
• GOVERNMENT-TECHNOLOGY INTERSECTION: Can you help me stop this pandemic? - Dr. Enrico L. Basilio
• ANG BIGAT NG SALITA: Ilang Pagninilay sa Gitna ng Pandemya - Dr. Louie Jon A. Sánchez

Since 1993 until 2019, NSTW was conducted every 3rd week of July. This year, through the Proclamation 780 signed by President Rodrigo Duterte last August 2019, NSTW celebration was moved to 4th week of November. (Phoebe Ann Hadaza Villasanta, DOST-NRCP)
