The National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) is among the key agencies tapped by the Batangas State University (BatSU) in helping the University shape its research direction in engineering through a Research Agenda Setting Workshop held last November 11, 2020 via Zoom. NRCP was represented by its member-expert Dr. Anthony F. Chiu, vice chair of the NRCP Division of Engineering and Industrial Research, and a Research Fellow from De La Salle University Manila. Dr. Chiu is an expert in industrial ecology particularly in areas of efficient and cleaner production.
In the workshop, Dr. Chiu participated in the section of Semiconductor and Electronics Design and Product Development, a research priority identified by BatSU in its aim to produce skilled graduates who can respond to the demand of the electronic and semiconductor industries of CALABARZON. The specific research areas identified during the workshop are Sensors and Actuators: Design and Verification; Development of Consumer Electronics; Data Acquisition Hardware Support Systems; Integrated Circuit Design and Verification, among others.
This agenda setting workshop is part of BatSU’s program that aims to strengthen industry and government knowledge co-creation and innovation production through a consultative or participative approach involving various stakeholders.
