The NRCP RDLead engagement of capacity building activities of 2-weeks at Mindanao State University General Santos (MSU GenSan) was completed on April 4, 2022, with NRCP RD Leader, Dr. Elmer P. Dadios.   His engagement activities at MSU GenSan started on March 21, 2022 to conduct the R&D activities and trainings.


In accordance with MSU GenSan R&D skill requirements, Dr. Dadios conducted a series of training programs and lectures on smart agriculture and fisheries, which were participated by faculty and personnel from various colleges and departments along with research proposal development, policy brief, and manuscript writing among others.

RDLeader Dadios also conducted consultation meetings with MSU GenSan researchers to help them develop and translate their research ideas into competitive R&D proposals for possible external funding.

Then as well, RDLeader Dadios together with the MSU GenSan team, headed by Research Director Dr. Jovanie C. Espesor, visited the DOST Region 12 office and met the Regional Director, Engr. Sammy P. Malawan to discuss how MSU GenSan could secure R&D funding from DOST 12 through submission of a research proposal.  RDLeader Dadios expressed his commitment to assist MSU GenSan to realize this.

RDLead Project Leader and NRCP Executive Director, Dr. Marieta BaƱez Sumagaysay shared significant information on NRCP Membership and access to DOST - NRCP R&D grants.

She encouraged the participants to enlist as members and enjoy the opportunities in pursuing research. She also discussed the National Integrated Basic Research Agenda (NIBRA) of the NRCP and emphasized the importance of aligning research proposals to the priorities of the funding institution / agency.

Dr. Mishell D. Lawas, MSU GenSan Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs expressed her gratitude for the opportunity and support extended by the NRCP RDLead Program to MSU GenSan.
