On March 9, 2022 a total of fourteen (14) Grade 10 students of St. Genevieve School of Pateros (SGSP) enrolled as students of the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) online science class program, the Back2Basic (B2B) Season 2.

The SGSP’s eight (8) female and six (6) male students will be attending a total of six (6) online science classes from April to May 2022 with lessons on volcano, machines, plant diseases, genomics, aerodynamics, and natural products.

B2B principal Malaya will talk about the new lessons and mechanics of B2B science classes. She will also conduct short review of lessons related to the topic that will be discussed. Malaya will introduce her real-life counterpart, the NRCP Experts, who will handle the teaching and discussion of the science lessons.

On the other hand, Atong and Aram will serve as avatar students. They will be the Grade 10 real-life classmates who will watch and listen, ask questions, and learn from the NRCP Experts' discussions.

For this season, SGSP officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement with NRCP to have their students as the regular online students of B2B Season 2.

B2B classes are still open to public.  Students who want to learn science with animations, infographics, and videos may register in the links provided and who missed the previous science class webcast can watch at www.nrcpbriter.com.

At the end of B2B Season 2, all SGSP students will take a comprehensive test to measure the knowledge they had gained and how much they appreciated the lessons and the platform used in teaching the lessons.

The 14 SGSP students will receive one tablet each containing all the lessons for them to review the lessons and share the knowledge gain with their siblings or other classmates.  SGSP on the other hand, will have 2 tablets for library and faculty use.

The science lessons featured in B2B Season 2 are designed by NRCP Science Education Experts headed by Dr. Marie Paz e. Morales, Chair of NRCP Division of Governmental, Educational, and International Policies and currently sit as the Corporate Secretary of the NRCP Governing Board. The lessons and activities are aligned with DepEd’s Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELC) for Grade 10 students.

The Department of Education (DepEd) Undersecretary for Curriculum and Instructions, Dr. Diosdado M. San Antonio in his Advisory dated March 31, 2022 endorsed B2B Season 2 science classes to all Grade 10 students and teachers.  The advisory enjoins them and the public to watch and participate in all the 6 webisodes.
