Now that we are done listening to four (4) webinars discussing Rizal as a Filipino Scientist and an advocate of community rights and welfare, the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) proudly brings the Finale of the Rizal Webinar Series titled, Inspirations from Rizal: The Youth Speaks of the Philippines 100 Years Hence on 29 March 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 NN.

 To make it exciting, the NRCP invited the viral sensation and 'History Geek Tita' who garnered 3.2M likes & 392k followers on TikTok—Ms. Mona Magno-Veluz, or more known as Mighty Magulang. She will provide interesting facts about Rizal that most of us would not know.1

Meanwhile, Mr. Jeremiah Villaroman or simply Je, a fashion and editorial photographer, is a descendant of Dr. Jose Rizal. He is the grandson of Saturnina Rizal Mercado de Hidalgo—Pepe’s eldest sister. During the first segment of the webinar, Je will share how his Lolo Pepe influenced his career path and the inspirations that he has gotten from his Lolo.

Showcasing the beauty of spoken poetry, Ms. Mai Cantillano will also join Ms. Mona and Mr. Je in the first segment. Aside from being an architect she actively practices her passion in spoken poetry. Last 2020, she produced eight tracks under the album Kapag Nakita Mo Na Siya.

For this webinar, she will perform her newly created piece dedicated to the National Hero of the Philippines, Dr. Jose Rizal.

Consequently, the second and third segments of the 5th Rizal webinar in commemoration of the 125th martyrdom of the hero are dedicated to the youth. Two (2) SEI Scholars, Andrea Canullas from the Philippine Normal University and Allan Jade de Leon from Technological University of the Philippines will engage in a discussion about S&T, climate change, pandemic, and education. Chosen entries for the Rizal Video Campaigns Ako Naman and Lodi ko si Rizal will be shown on the last segment.

DOST Secretary Fortunato T. de la Peña, Undersecretary for Research and Development Dr. Rowena Cristina L. Guevara, NRCP Executive Director and Rizal Project Leader Dr. Marieta Bañez-Sumagaysay, and NRCP Governing Board Member Dr. Aimee Lynn Barrion-Dupo will also grace the Series Finale.
