Fusion of Science and the Arts LED wall revised

In preparation to write a chapter for the book, “Science for the Arts,” authored by Secretary Fortunato T. de la Peña and co-authored by Dr. Marieta Bañez Sumagaysay, the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) will spearhead a Round Table Discussion (RTD) on February 24, 2022 and enjoin key stakeholders in order to discuss and generate insights on integrating science and technology with the creative arts industry.

This RTD on Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) Promoting Arts, with the theme, “Capacitating a Complex System of Support for Creative Community Development in the Philippines,” aims to provide an avenue for interaction, discussion and exchange of ideas and insights towards the development of a framework for government programs to boost creative arts using STI.

Eleven (11) resource persons from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, Department of Education, Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), UP Open University, House of Representatives author and co-author/s of the House Bill 10107     (the Philippine Creative Industries Development Act), Department of Trade and Industry, Small and Medium-Scale Enterprises (SMSEs), Angono Artists Association, The Indipendent Collective. TikTok Philippines, and University of the Philippines Baguio will share and discuss their knowledge and views on the issue.

This activity is in line with the project, Science for the People (SFTP) Book Series of the Department of Science and Technology, a publication of books which aims to transform existing data into relatable content and promote renewed interest for STI, and in general, to bring science closer to the people.
