There are stories of wisdom and inspiration all around us, just waiting to be shared. Stories of remarkable FIlipinos whose passion is call us to action.

Now on its second year, the stories of remarkable Filipino researchers and achievers of the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) will be released to the public during the NRCP Achievement Awardees Lecture Series, dubbed as iShare: Stories of Inspiration and Creative Research starting March 08, 2022, via online. NRCP iShare Season 2 releases Feb. 18The National Research Council of the Philippines eight (8) Achievement Awardees as iShare: Stories of Inspiration and Creative Research storytellers for Season 2. 

iShare aims to heighten and strengthen the various public’s awareness and engagement with NRCP scientists, researchers, and artists and to boost the appreciation and understanding of the budding male and female researchers and artists in the country on the sciences and the arts. The personal stories of the NRCP Achievement Awardees on their journey to become what they are now will serve as an inspiration to the young and entice them to take STEM courses. The awardees are role models which students can emulate, hence, build their scientific careers in the future. Through the inspiring stories of the NRCP’s digital storytellers, iShare further aims to develop a science culture among the students.

iShare Season 2 will have four episodes which feature two awardees every episode. The first webisode on March 08, 2022 starring 2018 Achievement Awardee Dr. Olivia C. Caoili, Director, Office of Research Coordination, University of the East, and 2019 Achievement Awardee Dr. Norvie L. Manigbas, Scientist II, Philippine Rice Research Institute.

Meanwhile, on March 24, 2022 for the 2nd webisode, 2019 Achievement Awardees Dr. Decibel V. Faustino- Eslava, Dean, School of Environmental Science and Management, University of the Philippines Los Baños, and Dr. Lanndon A. Ocampo, Associate Professor 3, Department of Industrial Engineering, Cebu Technological University, will share their stories.

For the 3rd webisode on April 21, 2022, 2019 Achievement Awardees Dr. Doralyn S. Dalisay, Director, Center for Chemical Biology and Biotechnology, University of San Agustin, and Dr. Henry N. Adorna, Professor, Department of Computer Science, University of the Philippines Diliman, are going to release their stories to the public.

2019 Achievement Awardees Dr. Marie Paz E. Morales, Director, Publication Office, Philippine Normal University, and Dr. Custer C. Deocaris, Senior Science Specialist, DOST-Philippine Nuclear Research Institute, will star the final webisode of this iShare season which will be aired on May 25, 2022.

NRCP successfully conducted the first season of iShare from December 18, 2020 to March 25, 2021. The first season was composed of three (3) webisodes with two (2) Achievement Awardees each, who come from different areas of expertise. The featured awardees were: Dr. Teresa S. Encarnacion Tadem, Professor, College of Social Sciences and Philosophy, UP Diliman; Dr. Anthony SF Chiu, University Fellow, Professor and Research Fellow, De La Salle University Manila; Dr. Karlo L. Queaño, Geologist, Ateneo de Manila University; Dr. Joyce L. Arriola, Professor at University of Santo Tomas; Dr. Elmer S. Estacio, Professor, National Institute of Physics, University of the Philippines Diliman; and Dr. Rowena DT. Baconguis, Professor, University of the Philippines Los Baños. (Jenny Leigh A.
